Welcome to the WPOA Website,
Badge of Honnor

The Whittier Police Officers Association (WPOA) was organized and exists under the rules and regulations of its by-laws, the laws of the City of Whittier and the State of California. The Association’s membership includes sworn personnel in Whittier and Santa Fe Springs and it includes Officers, Corporals, and Sergeants. Its objective is to promote a closer bond of fraternity for mutual protection; to encourage and improve professionalization; to promote further efficiency within the ranks of the department; to maintain and improve the working conditions; to ensure retirement benefits and job tenure of the members of the department.

The WPOA has steadfastly represented the members through both bountiful and lean times. The association has enjoyed and has continued to foster a harmonious working atmosphere with the police administration and the governing body of the City of Whittier, all to the benefit of the employee.

WPD Back in the Day

Our goal is to focus resources on programs that promote positive social values for young people in our community. We support those programs that are reaching out to our youth, mentoring, and guiding them to their highest potential. We know due to the current economic situation our funds have slightly diminished, but through partnerships and support from the community, along with hard work and commitment, we can continue to support these groups in our society. Our goal and fundraising efforts are the basis of the programs title “Cops Helping Kids”. The WPOA is a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization.

old WPD groupThe WPOA has always been active in the community with youth organizations and continues to expand its role in mentoring new as well as existing programs. The Whittier Police Explorer post is one of those programs. This program is funded
by community support along with dedicated members of the WPOA.  It is very successful and has proven to have a positive impact on our youth. This program is one example of what can be accomplished through your support. In addition to helping our youth programs, your sponsorship will also facilitate the ongoing mission of the Whittier Police Officer’s Association.

In order to accomplish our goal, we rely on community support. By donating or becoming involved as a Sponsor to one of our programs, you will show your continued support for the future of our youth. Funds raised will support programs in Whittier and Santa Fe Springs.
